Citizen Science - Some historical background

Citizen Science: It may be useful to return to earlier framework programmes to update the historical background on citizen science. The science in society programme (FP7) incorporated elements of participation. Note also that many EU member states had citizen science programmes on a national level that long predates the OS version of citizen science. The publications and insights from the earlier efforts may be useful for moving forward. The ESRC in the UK had an interactive social science research programme (publication in SPP)
