Pash Variables

This file documents special Pash variables.

PASHForceSynchronizeProcessOutput

This variable control process execution. Possible values:

  • $false (default) - when starting a new process via call operator & or directly, application executable file will be checked. If an application uses an OS console subsystem, Pash execution will be blocked until process finished. If an application don't use console subsystem (i.e. uses GUI subsystem), process will be started in background.
  • $true - when starting a new process via call operator & or directly, Pash execution will be blocked until process finished.

Note: This flag effectively has no effect under Unix-like OS (Linux, Mac), because any applications under Unix counts as console.

PASHUseUnixLikeConsole

This variable can be used to force to either use or use not a Unix-like console which adds support for cursor movement, history, and some more tweaks. By default, such a console will be used on all operating systems but Windows, as it has its own features for console input. Possible values:

  • $false - No Unix-like console will be used and the operating system's default console input will be used.
  • $true - The console input will have features that are similar to the common console features on Unix-like systems.
