Shield balance has a delay in updating

As the title says, Shield seems to have a delay after a transactions is sent before the Shield balance updates. A personal test shown around a ~30 second delay, sending a full Shield note to an external wallet (thus, it should have reduced the Shield balance immediately, there wasn't even any change to consider).
