Follow-up work to #10542 & #9915

Overview

Once the basic pipetting restrictions are implemented, we will need to implement a provision to override some of the super prohibitive restriction for users. These will allow super-users to utilize their deck space much more easily and use their existing protocols with minimal changes to labware placement.

Implementation details

  • In PAPIv2, allow pipetting commands to refer to an 'override' flag (could be passed in as a command arg or could be an advanced setting) to determine whether to implement the strict restrictions or allow the pipetting with user discretion.
  • Should have clear warnings in docs regarding probability of crashing and what to do to avoid those situations
  • Will not provide any collision checks so it will be up to the user to make sure that no pipetting to crash-causing wells happens.

This is not a priority. It's a nice-to-have and will be handled depending on time availability before the release
