With perhaps the need to distinguish between voluntarily partial (stemma of redaction A, or stemma without codices descripti) vs. unvoluntarily partial (3 mss found after the date), but that would be hard.
Or we need also to add a field like : current/deprecated stemma? (but I can imagine the discussions).

I agree, complete/partial would be very useful!

Maybe:
scope: "complete"
scope: "partial(branch)" => Only of one redaction
scope: "partial(shallow)" => Does not contain all extant manuscripts, only the main ones for textual criticism
scope: "partial(incomplete)" => Does not contain manuscripts found after the date or incomplete for any other reason not contemplated in the other categories.
current/deprecated could indeed be very contentious...
