Problem: adding stuff from alikes of metallurgy is quite tedious.

Solution: Ask forge to give us an oredict and populate custom ore gen with that?

Problem with solution: how to decide on rarity of those ores? Harvest level, or transpose vanilla world generation settings (can we get them at all?)?
