Preview images are not scaled according to size and height of an object

It seems to me that there is no option to scale the preview image to fit the width and height of an entity. This leads to visual issues when the supplied image is either bigger or smaller than the entity.

Here is an example where the preview image has two times the width and height of the entity.

Of course, sometimes it might be preferable not to fit the image to the entity. In my opinion, the ideal solution would be to allow for greater control of preview image placement. You could then for example set the dimensions and offset of that image within the entity.

Another solution which is significantly less work but also less customizable would be a simple switch to toggle between scaling and non-scaling.
