@jmaerz - I think would be useful to have common tools bundled together with the BLOM/iHAMOCC repository. |

With the latest PR (#486) the general structure is now in place (while it can be further developed, if needed) - hence closing the discussion. |

Dear @TomasTorsvik , @JorgSchwinger , @matsbn and others,
I would suggest to have a
tools
(orutils
, if you like) folder for BLOM, where general scripts can be stored - maybe sorted according to BLOM and iHAMOCC. @AleksiNummelin started this by #83, which was unfortunately never merged (and is now slightly outdated/requires picking up the new developments in BLOM).I.e. like:
These tools can comprehend remapping tools, preparation tools for input files, etc. To me, the only question would be, how bullet-proof and well documented they shall be - but I would vote for an experimental, but useful stage of those tools that can then be further developed in common, if desired. Having one place, where those tools are hosted would to my taste be better than sharing these tools via email, ... - and ending up with several versions that might at the end not do the same thing anymore. Technically, this also concerns an improved structure for raw input data, which might be an extra discussion.
Thoughts?
