sync stuck: sync error: (http: 404, matrix: M_NOT_FOUND:'Could not find event $xxx')

Describe the bug

My nheko v0.9.2 (desktop) got stuck in sync, causing it not to process any new incoming events. Sending messages was still possible but no delivery notifications or new messages were shown and the client would indefinitely show the loading animation in the chat window. A second client on a different computer still received all those.

In the console nheko would print this error every few seconds:

[net] [error] sync error: (http: 404, matrix: M_NOT_FOUND:'Could not find event $xxx')

The event ID was the same every time.

The only way to fix this issue was deleting ~/.local/share/nheko/nheko/
