if bad data is entered e.g strings in an integer field, it fails silently.

how do you think the failure should be presented to the user after processing by the back end? what do you think of using http://www.meiocodigo.com/projects/meiomask/ to address this on the front end (in addition to a back end solution)?

I like the front end solution. For the presentation, perhaps highlight the question in red and display the error?
