Currently if a multiband raster is loaded as a Dataset, when used in continuous comparisons each band is given it's own statistics separately. However, if a multiband raster is loaded as a DataArray, when used in continuous comparisons the bands are averaged together. There is no indication to the user that this behavior will happen. It will be beneficial to the user to either articulate this behavior or break up a DataArray by band and aggregate with another argument.
Current behavior
Band averaging of xarray DataArray types.
Expected behavior
User aware of behavior or DataArray statistics note band averaged.
