[ Submitter's Name ] Martin Skelly [ Submitter's Affiliated Organisation ] Mozilla Open IoT Studio / University of Dundee [ Submitter's Github ]@mskell
In this session, we will discuss the value of physical objects for telling stories around emergent technologies, debate best practice for creating objects that can raise awareness of an issue, and sketch out ideas for how prototyping could add value to your work area or projects. The session will utilise findings from creating prototypes that the Open IoT Studio recently created around IoT & Voice, and a student collaboration between the Mozilla Foundation and University of Dundee exploring Future Camera interfaces.
What is the goal or outcome of your session?
Often the issues and debates we need to engage members of the public in around technology are complex. We will discuss best practice for creating prototype objects and experiences that encourage critical conversations and debate around a topic or problem with diverse non technical audiences.
