At some point, a dye check for "dark colors" seems to have been added. From what I've heard in talking about this with others, they believed this was only supposed to block dye for a few things like maybe lights and IDs.
However, this seems to block dyes for just about everything. Furniture can't be dyed dark colors anymore. Nor can clothes.
And, whenever this change was made, it also seems to have broken cleaning dyes off of things. Using a rag on spraycan-dyed shoes, for example, doesn't clean off the coloring anymore. Using the washing machine to dye things also seems fairly broken, sometimes it works and sometimes not, even with non-dark colors, I'm not sure under what conditions, though.
Hopefully this isn't intended. Either way, it'd be nice for both drip and remodeling if dyeing was returned to a good working state.
