Reproduction:

If an oozeling is reduced to a core, they cannot be placed in a construct shard (tested with a purified, crew-side one, the one available to the Chaplain roundstart specifically). They also cannot be placed into the shard while in hard crit. Note that this bug did not happen this current round, so client logs probably won't be helpful.

Okay seems only oozling cores cannot be soul captured. The body in deep crit does work as intended. Will be addressing it. Requires more than I might be able to do alone. Needs to refactor soulshards to handle things besides carbon/human since oozling corpses are brainmobs. Will come back to this later.
