Luckily, the html2canvas plugin used to capture screenshots of the map comes with an attribute data-html2canvas-ignore={true} to hide the element upon image capture.
Unfortunately, I was unable to hide the map zoom controls (bottom-right) using this method since its part of the leaflet map.
Also updated a few unit tests
