Describe the bug

The attempt to enable notifications on the extension is met with an infinite loading spinner which does not end (initially I assumed it's the same issue as [Bug]: Performance - Notifications - Enabling Notifications takes a significant amount of time (>6 seconds) and disabling it also few seconds (2-3s) but it remains stuck in loading even after lock-unlock.

Expected behavior

Notifications are enabled

Steps to reproduce

  1. Load MetaMask
  2. Proceed to Enable Notifications
  3. Notice the infinite loading spinner

Closing as no further reproduction was possible upon restarting the controller.
