I have searched the issue tracker for open and closed issues that are similar to the feature request I want to file, without success.
I have searched the documentation for information that matches the description of the feature request I want to file, without success.
This issue contains only one feature request.
Problem Description
In fullscreen, videos only display in what VLC refers to as "Best Fit" where the video fits within the display, but the result is black bars on the side of the screen.
Proposed Solution
Add the ability to fill the screen with the video regardless of the difference of aspect ratio and screen size. It should either be able to be initiated by gesture or by a setting.
Here is what this looks like in VLC:
Best Fit
VS
Fit Screen
Alternatives Considered
The only alternative I could think of would be to simply not implement this feature, but obviously, that doesn't address the issue.
Issue Labels
improvement to existing feature
Additional Information
No response
