The instruction in R1 doesn't work for current version of ManageIQ anymore.

I am hoping "External" plugin support can be part of ManagIQ default feature.
This will provide users a quick way to link existing internal websites and make ManageIQ as one central portal site.

Hi @martinpovolny, Did you get a chance to look at this RFE issue ?

Sorry I have not :-(

However the mechanism should work and on CFME appliances this mechanism is used to integrate Insights -- it is even visible on your screenshow.

I think your problem might be the file vmdb/config/permission.yml. It was added to limit the top level sections available on the appliance and if you are adding a top level section, you need to add to that file too.

I am currently working on a more complex and capable plugin mechanism here: https://github.com/martinpovolny/miq_plugin_example if you want to take a look.

This should hopefully satisfy the requirement: ManageIQ/manageiq-ui-classic#5617
