Issue Summary

When I'm viewing my own profile and have the "show read posts" option deactivated I cannot see my own posts. This makes it hard to edit them later, add comments, view upvotes, etc.

I would also expect to see all posts of a user when I'm viewing another person's profile. Even if I have read them before.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create post.
  2. View post.
  3. Deactivate setting "show read posts"
  4. Go to own profile page.
  5. Go to posts tab.

Sounds related to #384 (Adding the concept of mark-as-read)

Can confirm that this also happens in the overview section of the profile page.

Bumping, just ran into this issue earlier. Your own posts should not show as "read" (hidden if you have "hide read posts" checked) on your profile.

Bumping serves no purpose on GitHub, issues are sorted by creation by default. You can use reactions to express agreement if you don't have anything to add, and subscribe to it to receive updates, as to not clutter the thread :D

With that said:
Do we all agree that the intended behavior is that posts can't be hidden on profiles. Can't think of any other pages that would need to be excluded

Saved posts would be one such page. But I think we already have an exception for that one.

It was apparently missed while implementing it, even though Nutomic specifically mentioned it

Show read posts on the search page too.

I think the best way to fix this would be through LemmyNet/lemmy#4124 then every UI could handle it by themselves.
