@Koenkk will you consider hosting Z-Stack 1.2 and 3.0 "end device" firmware binaries in your repo?

Z-Stack Home 1.2 "end device" (switch & router) firmware can be made with ptvo configurable tool:

Z-Stack 3.0 "end device" (switch & router) firmware binary and source for Sonoff BASICZBR3 as POC:

I think that many could be interested in a third-party firmware for Sonoff BASICZBR3. Especially if it is safe to connect an external sensor to its CC2530 module. (ptvo firmware already support DS18B20, BMP280, BME280, DHT11, DHT12, DHT22, AM2301, SI7021, MHZ19, and SenseAir S8 as external sensors for CC253x). See for example it mentioned in this blog:

@kirovilya Nice if Sonoff BASICZBR3 can be used as cheap Zigbee 3.0 sensor and router device?

I have nothing against this (if a proper manual is included how to flash the firmware/for which device).

Hi @Gamester17,
I've tested a configurable firmware for Sonoff Basic ZBR3, but it is Zigbee 1.2

@ptvoinfo Would you be willing to submit binaries under a new "end_device/CC2530/bin" directory?

Maybe there should be end_device directories for Z-Stack_Home_1.2 & Z-Stack_3.0.x or?

So as for coordinator https://github.com/Koenkk/Z-Stack-firmware/tree/master/coordinator ?

  • New "end_device/Z-Stack_Home_1.2/CC2530/bin" directory?

or as in for router https://github.com/Koenkk/Z-Stack-firmware/tree/master/router ?

  • Just a new "end_device/CC2530/bin" directory?

...if so then I will close PR #178 or create a new one (or if someone else does that, does not matter)

@ptvoinfo Nice by the way! Did you happen to also test any external sensors with Sonoff BasicZBR3?

Would be great to know if it is compatible with any sensors that Itead sells for Sonoff TH10/TH16. Itead also sells very nicely packaged DS18B20, Si7021, and AM2301 sensors for its Sonoff TH10/TH16 series.

Would be awesome if those could be used with Sonoff BasicZBR3 with your third-party firmware. Of course, we would have to either modify a 3,5-mm audio-adapter for them or cut wires to connect them.

They sell this "SONOFF 5M Sensor Extension Cable" would could be cut of and made into an adapter:

@kirovilya Are you maybe willing to submit Z-Stack 3.0 / Zigbee 3.0 binary for Sonoff BasicZBR3 too?

@Gamester17 My firmware requires several large companion binary files. I'm not sure that it is a good idea to upload all these files to the repository. But we can add a link to the corresponding info on my website.
