Often when you open a door all of the mobs are bunched up nearby the door. It appears that this is because they can see the player before the door is opened.
Not only does this not make much sense, it also gives the player a clear advantage moving into a room if:
only one enemy can attack him at a time
he knows which direction he will be attacked from

I'm aware of this. It's on my todo list. Currently the enemies use a very simple "within x many squares" activation method, purely because it was the quickest way to get everything working.
