Minutes

Old Business

  • No updates on old business.

New Business

  • Move Islandora Oral Histories to Islandora Deprecated on Github.com

    • Melissa was doing maintenance on Github.com and noticed that the fedora 4 interest group was deprecated due to mission completion. Group is not on hiatus as it has achieved its mission goals.
    • Proposal: Call to vote to move Islandora Oral histories to Islandora Deprecated on Github.com
    • Question: (Martha) Is solution pack still in labs or in core?
    • Answer: (Melissa) Still in labs.
    • Additionally, Melissa has issued PRs across all interest groups for them to clearly indicate group status especially if on hiatus.
    • Will continue to email voting for those missing the vote during the call.
  • Islandora community events pages

    • Fedora community maintains list of events and with folks who want to meet up.
    • Melissa thought that this type of list might also be useful for Islandora community for people to link up.
    • Discussion ensued on using Meetup.com, privacy concerns, noise to signal on list and providing more context of what these meetings / conferences are on the list.
    • David Wilcox mentioned that the Fedora list:
      • functions well as list of events that the Fedora team is attending but also very handy for the Fedora community and other communities at large.
      • formatting is questionable. Tabling in Github is messy
      • List needs improvement for context, it doesn't use all columns e.g. for leadership meetings.
    • Melissa: Develop our own list?
      • Challenges with duplication
      • Encourage Fedora list to have more changes
      • Merge lists to focus on Islandora
    • Martha: this is a good resource too https://github.com/Islandora-Labs/islandora_bibliography
    • Next steps: David and Melissa to collaborate on modifying and improving list.
