  • Rosie: wonder if this is related to the make profile stuff. were the make demo will pull the image container from where docker stuff lives, and since make local install profile also sets the thing called islandora demo, there might have been an issue where he was trying to do a non-install profile verison using an install profile

  • Seth: It's an interesting idea but the costs aren't worth the effort: browser support is uncertain. More testing would be needed to figure out if a solution is feasible. Browser supports for .vtt versus separate source tracks differ, if it supports the embedded at all - there's just a lot not known about browsser support embeddded .vtt that would need to be explored before spending time to figure out how to do it.
  • Lower priority feature request/enhancement.
  • The implementation idea would be that you don't need separate .vtt, but there will be other cases where you will need them anyway. Would also "travel with the file", if downloaded and played locally rather than streamed.

  • Alex: Bug in File Hash where if no hash configuration, it'll write straight to database. This is an oversight in hash module itself which has been fixed in an update of File Hash
  • The build fails everywhere in PHP 8.1 bc we're not compatible yet. Before, it was failing on every version of PHP.
  • Jordan will review and follow up with Alex

  • It's on the dev branch, isn't necessarily impacting someone.
  • Among the issues where it won't affect sites (so doesn't need a release), but may be required in the future.

  • A fix to Search page taking 2-3 min to look up. Merging this in can be an accesiblity issue - at least for thumbnails in search.
  • Alex: Is this an islandora issue or a Drupal media issue?
  • Seth: This is entity rendering of the search result - having a page time out because it's taking too long is likely not due to alt text.
  • Jordan: For stuff like this or docker stuff, is this the right target audience for this? Raised questions about role of Tech Call vs. ISLE maintainers group.
  • Could be merged in with the caveat that it could break sometimes.
  • If we merge this we still need to address the fact of the alt text.
  • Seth wonders if there is a performance-oriented solution - the default amount of thumbnails should not be increasing these load times so it seems like something else is going on - what else is enabled that is making this happen?
  • Willow: This pulls in the file node to media to node to title to paragraph - quite a few steps to pull in a title
  • Seth: Which of these calls is really adding the time expense? Could dig deeper because it seems suspicious?
