Friendly fire enabled after someone crashes #297
Comments
no beserkium in sight? |
Berserkium was not involved. We played around with the bug the first time the bug happened. The bug only ever affected one of us - one player was vulnerable to friendly fire and the other was immune as normal. |
I'll also clarify that it was definitely not the spells involved. In our testing I shot my friend with an unmodified spark bolt and dealt damage to him while he was unable to return fire. It was likely not a specific enemy applying a debuff, but I won't rule it out. The behavior was noted inside holy mountains and in the frozen vault. It certainly occurred in other places but I can't confidently name them from memory. I never saw any debuff-applying enemies and I would expect a radial debuff to be applied to both of us if that was the case. Status debuffs would have been noted at the time of occurrence but none were noted. |
the more i think about it the less possible this seams, ill close until i see a video of it, never heard of this reported otherwise |
I've been playing with a friend and we've had two promising runs ended by friendly fire when neither of us have unsafe wands. I host and my friend joins, and he experiences infrequent crashing. Whenever he crashes, one of us becomes vulnerable to friendly fire from the other. In the first game, he crashed and he became susceptible to friendly fire. I killed him by accident and his ghost killed me, ending the run. In the second game, he experienced a crash loop when we rejoined an old session from inside the kantele room (during christmas so wand editing was enabled) which resolved when I moved far away from the tree (to the lake) and left the lobby (he was able to join the empty lobby fine). At that point -I- became vulnerable to friendly fire and he killed me shortly after we started playing again, and my ghost killed him, ending our run.
We are running three mods: Entangled Worlds, Spell progress reminder, and Apotheosis. Apotheosis seems to be running just fine, but I suspect that small incompatibilities between Entangled Worlds and Apotheosis are the cause of at least some of my partner's crashes. I am hosting on Linux (EndeavourOS), he is a client on Windows.
Let me know what information I can provide to aide your development. Thank you for the cool mod, by the way.
