Describe the user role
As a user, I would like to extract exposure metrics (e.g. cumulative histograms, average field on target tissues) for all the simulated electrode pairs. These could be calculated as an extra option, and reported in tabular form or etc.

Describe the goal
The goal is to use the powerful and unique TI tool not just for TI investigations but also for advanced investigations related to tES. For example, I'd like to know what could be the distribution of the E-field peak in the brain for all the possible pairs using the 10-10 electrode system (and eventually the peak in the skin).

Describe the benefit
The data can be easily produced with minimal additional computational effort.

** Notes **
Specification of the exposure metrics to be extracted and reported will be identified by a dedicated working group

After a discussion with Antonino, we converged on the following requested additions to TIP which can be implemented rather easily:

  • add nanmax for E1, E2 and HF to the metrics .csv table, but don't show them in our UI metrics table.
  • Once the user loads a specific setup, these three numbers should be shown either in the field slicer section or in the analytical results section
  • A separate list should be generated that collects the E-field max for individual channels. Can be generated either during optimization or based on the metrics table. Make sure each pair only appears once even if that pair appears in several permutations.
