T-Stick 5GW Updates - Jan 15th 2024

Hello everyone,

I was hoping to get some new 3d printed parts last week but due to delays that did not happen just yet so no updates for assembly just yet. Here are some small updates.

Hardware Updates

1. Battery tests have been going on for almost 2 weeks now. The data has yet to be formally analyzed but here are some observations.

   • Average battery life of about 10-12 hours for a 2000mAh battery
   • Average current draw of 200mAh
   • the USB port of a computer is sometimes unable to provide the constant voltage and current needed to fully charge the battery only charging it up to 90%.
   • When the voltage is below 3.1V there is a 15-30 minute period where there is enough battery to power on the ESP32 but not enough to power the WiFi.

2. Partial assembly of the board has been done, waiting on new endcaps and some heat shrink to finish assembly.
   
   

Software Updates

1. Initial release for the firmware for the EnchantiTouch board can be found here: https://github.com/IDMIL/EnchantiTouch/releases/tag/alpha
2. Still have bugs to work out and some features to add but very promising initial test results from the board
   • Scan time (time to scan 30 slots/60 channels) : 0.85 ~ 1.3ms
   • SPI speed (time to send date to ESP32 board): 0.6ms ~ 1.3ms
   • Resolution: 12bit
