Line break in multi-line field

How do I insert a line break within text in a multiline field? I have an address that is comma separated, and the field displays:

Street, Town, Postal Code, Country

I want to use line breaks instead of commas, so that the field will display:

Street
Town
Postal Code
Country

How do I do that? If the answer is to substitute in a particular character, what character is it please?
