Problem description

(Semi-related to this issue: prior submitted issue #3678 has not been looked at by any contributor/developer to this date; despite it being confirmed by two other users of the software; affecting any dropdown menu (including Launch Options) from being consistently selected on the Steam Deck in Game Mode.)

Feature description

I would like to pass along a launch option (from the game itself) when using Steam shortcuts.

This does affect tools and even entire games (e.g. Sid Meier's Civilization IV) where entire game versions (such as Civ IV's expansions) could be locked away.

While this can be done when running the Heroic launcher, I prefer launching the Heroic installed games directly through Steam's interface.

I would suggest either:

  • Adding an optional parameter where the text of the launch option could be passed along, to get selected and launch said executable.
  • Allow creating Steam shortcuts for each launch option.

Alternatives

Checking the Steam shortcut myself - yet this only shows a heroic:// url with a GOG game id, without any (clear) launch option selection able to get passed.
