I felt like the dogs lacked something and were still too weak on high levels with simply more HP and more damage. I added repeating command blocks that detect when a dog gains a specific level and applies a designed effect to it (regeneration, speed, fire resistance, resistance). It would be cool if it was configurable in the files though :)
