2022/03/29 and 2022/04/05 HARP Work Session #175
Comments
UPDATE 3/30/2022 I was able to get the rolling averages script up and running, so that now it should be able run with inputs of one land segment, start date, and end date of the csv file desired. Upon running the script with land segment A51810, this is what is returned. Definitely some wacky precipitation data. The R script I used to generate these graph is located here. |
UPDATE ON MASH UP TIMESERIES SCRIPT I have uploaded a R script that houses the functions necessary to create and post synthetic timeseries. This is still a working draft, and the functions need to be further tested. Once complete, I plan on adding the functions to the lseg_functions.R script, and uploading a sample workflow for their use. Link to script on github: https://github.com/HARPgroup/HARParchive/blob/master/HARP-2021-2022/synthetic_met_functions.R |
Alex on on the plot above, the amount of precipitation depth does not make sense to me. I'm also wondering why the values go down every year if this is annual precipitation (e.g., one point per year) |
Agree - and I think that's Alex's point -- this segment is throwing an
error in Gopal's processing code -- it's way screwed up!! And yeah, the
cyclical part is freaky.
Alex - how about plotting the grid cell CSVs for each of the cells in that
land segment?

UPDATE 4/9/2022 Upon looking in to the grid cells in segment A51810, none of the grid cells contained withing the segment had strange precip data. All 16 of the grids produced similar data to the graphs below. When I work again either tomorrow or Monday, I try and rerun Gopal's a2l function to see if that resolves the land segment error. The R script I used to generate these graph is located here. |
