In terms of SCI one interesting aspect is since the I is "historical" what value dos it have as a leading indicator.
I think it's reasonable to use a SCI with a historical "I" as an indicator for future usage, but wondering what others think?
E.g. a SCI score for an online DB might be 2.5g per GB in January, but that was because January was a month with say less solar and therefore high "I". What guidance (if any) do we want to provide to people in the use of SCI as a forward indicator.
Options:
A) Acknowledge that the SCI is a lagging indicator based on historical data, so use just as a guide but it might not be accurate until you get the new SCI which covers your time period.
B) Advise never to use SCI as a "decision" making tool, it's for historical/reporting purposes only (ugh... against all our previous thinking)
C) Adjust the SCI spec to ask for the E, I and M to be disclosed as part of the SCI score. That way you could pump in your own I and use it as more of a forward looking indicator.
