Story

As an IF user, I want to see examples of Impact Framework use that demonstrate how the manifest file can be used to retrieve observations from large production cloud resources and pipeline them through IF models to output an SCI score.

Rationale

This will allow new Impact Framework users to see how the Impact Framework manifest file and models can be used to simplify the process of generating an SCI score from a large set of cloud application resources defined by an application boundary. The manifest aims to allow automation of Endava's Fraud Detection tool SCI calculation; employing models to automate the calculations and measurements that were previously performed manually, and avoiding the manual generation of a complex manifest graph.

Scope

• Creation of example manifest file that utilizes the AWS-Inventory, AWS-Importer, Climatiq.io and SCI models.
• Creation of explanatory documentation to describe the manifest file content and operation, with comparison to our manual submission.

Implementation Guidelines

• The manifest MUST use the new AWS-Importer model
• The manifest MUST use the new Climatiq model
• The manifest SHOULD use the WattTime model for carbon intensity calculation
• The manifest MUST use the GSF SCI model
• The manifest file MUST run successfully using the IF
• The submission MUST have documentation in the form of a README that explains the manifest file structure and purpose, and show output from actual execution.
