Starting muted but with audio

Hello, I trying to start a wallpaper muted, which can be achieved with no-audio in options. But later if try to unmute this process via echo 'cycle mute' | socat it doesn't work. However, it works if I start wallpaper with audio. So, is no-audio option literary means that there is no audio track in that process. Sorry if I missed, I didn't find it in the mpv documentation. The question is, how can I start a wallpaper muted but with the possibility to later unmute it? Thank you.
