Unit issue: Alkalinity unit requirement, mEq/L vs milliequivalent per liter #886

This is about term https://genomicsstandardsconsortium.github.io/mixs/0000421/ but could also be more in general. Units are as far as I can tell are completely written out like milliequivalent per liter. When looking at the EBI https://www.ebi.ac.uk/ena/browser/view/ERC000025 the unit equivalent they use is mEq/L. As we submit our data mostly to the EBI we use mEq/L and other variations thereof.

But within MIxS what should be done? Both, one or the other? Not sure if this has already been discussed?
