Doesn't even have to be the same game, using standard wine the program fails to do much of anything, but when ran through protontricks, it works fine, doesn't even need to be the same prefix as the game you're editing.
While im glad I can still make it work, is a linux port possible? Or at least making it work through standard wine?

I don't think any of Steam's Linux contexts show through to Wine unless it's been set up specifically to work (i.e. when launched by Steam through Proton).
Maybe a Unity version could be considered in the future, but for now, I still don't think there are any good WinForms replacement for .NET on Linux.
Well, its good to see you're still responding to issues 5 years later, thanks, you're the only one whos managed to actually let me clean up my steam cloud, and thankfully after moving to linux I can still make it work somewhat. Hope to see a native port one day.
