We should naturally suspect that densification would cause some long term bias as the mast bottom is presumably anchored on the bottom, the surface is moving increasingly fast toward that deep anchor. A fit to the arc may be key to correcting the densification effect... or it's a decrease in accumulation rate over time. The topic deserves description in the ESSD and deserves further investigation.
