FutureProofHomes "AI Base Station Max" and "AI Base Station Max Pro" based on AMD Ryzen AI Max (SoC) high-end models using the new AMD Strix Halo series APU with unified memory?
#16
Please consider looking into making also making a FutureProofHomes AI Base Station Max varient based on "AMD Ryzen AI Max" series, i.e. high-end model(s) of your upcoming AI Base Station using the new AMD Strix Halo series APU hardware with unified memory.
Not sure if you read or researched anything about the new "AMD Ryzen AI Max" series and the AMD Strix Halo series APU that was announced recently at CES 2025 but apparenly unified memory architecture allow it to be a AI workhorse with a lot more VRAM allocated. As the unified memory architecture allow you to use the system memory as VRAM memory you can fit a lot larger modules as long as have system RAM for it.
FYI, looks like GMK was first to announce the first Mini-PC based on AMD Ryzen AI 9 Max+ 395 APU with 32GB RAM (availability in Q2 2025):
Note that these are APUs (Application Processor Units) so they are an embedded SoC, meaning it is a CPU with integrated GPU, NPU, and bridges so it is designed to be soldered directly on the board toghether with the memory chips, (same as with Apple's M1/M2/M3/M4 design).
AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and the AMD Ryzen™ AI Max+ PRO 395 chips simply offer crazy capabilities when it comes to AI acceleration:

PS: Slightly off-topic but FYI, it is looking very likley that a "Stream Deck 2" (from Valve) and other StreamOS portable computers coming in the near future will be based on the AMD Ryzen AI Max / AMD Strix Halo platform as Valve now license SteamOS for other companies to use:
