Hi Frank,

as discussed in #484 (comment) and following, here the new issue:

Adding an option (somewhere in the settings or directly in the dile filter dialog) to let the program restart with the last selected file filter. As you mentioned in #484 (comment) and #484 (comment) many factors have to be considered, so that a startup will potentially not last too long.

Kind regards,
Angus

Thanks Angus,

As discussed wil be something for the version after V6.3.6.

Meanwhile I found a (severe) bug in the pre-rel that I need to inform you of. When using readmode=internal you can see &39; In XMP fields. It should be a single quote.
The data itself is correct, just display is corrupted.
Will notify you when it's fixed.

Hi Frank,

I did some testing with the updated pre-rel. Everything worked fine.

Hi Angus,

Thanks for testing. Still need to update the docs. Could be 1 or 2 weeks before I release V636.

I would like to mention you (https://github.com/AngusPhoe) in the Credits for the release. Unless you prefer not to?

Frank.

Hi Frank,

I would like to mention you (https://github.com/AngusPhoe) in the Credits for the release.

I feel honored and in the same time a little bit ashamed, because my role was asking for something and you had the work. But yes, you can mention me. Thanks!

Kind regards,
Angus.

I have been doing other things then ExifToolGui lately. I'm picking up where I left now, going thru the issues I still see this one.

Is the way it works currently (V6.3.6) satisfactory for you? Or do you still want something changed?

Maybe you find issue #650 interesting, please have a look, and provide me with your valuable feedback, when you have the time.

Best regards,
Frank

Hi Frank,

nice to hear from you.

Is the way it works currently (V6.3.6) satisfactory for you? Or do you still want something changed?

I used exiftoolgui very much the last month editing all my photos and videos of 2024. And I very often thought: what a great program. 👏
From time to time I found indeed some workflows not very intuitiv - but that were only minor issues, and probably very subjective. The are two points, I could imagine some improvement:

 1. for "keyboard people" like me: key shortcuts for very often used actions, e.g. date/time shift/equalize, exiftool direct.
 2. Adding quicktime tag support in the shifting/equalizing date/time dialogs (today only exif and xmp tags are supported)

Maybe you find issue #650 interesting, please have a look, and provide me with your valuable feedback, when you have the time.

I will have a look and comment there.

Kind regards,
Angus

Hi Angus,

Is the way it works currently (V6.3.6) satisfactory for you?

That question was only meant for this issue. 'Start program with last selected file filter'. But I do appreciate your response...

Is it OK for you to close this issue, and create 2 new ones? One for the shortcuts, and another for the quicktime tags?

Thanks,
Frank

P.S. From time to time it might take a while for me to respond also
