Affected app version

1.0.0

Affected Android/Custom ROM version

Android 10

Affected device model

Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite

How did you install the app?

F-Droid / IzzyOnDroid

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. open app
  2. select timer tab
  3. edit default or add new timer line
  4. start timer with play button
  5. clear app
  6. Bug is that timer will not run in background and hourglass notification will not be visible.
  7. Workaround, follow steps 1-6.
  8. Minimize app (dot)
  9. Wait for hourglass to appear in notification bar to appear
  10. Clear app. Notification banner will be visible and decrementing, Alarm will commence normally.

Removing background power optimization does not remove bug. All other timers and alarms work normally with power management work normally on this phone.

Expected behavior

Timer should run in background without intermediate steps of minimizing app and waiting for notification.

Actual behavior

see steps in report

Screenshots/Screen recordings

If required, will supply.

Could you provide a video recording with it? I've tested it on different phones with Android 10 (also Xiaomi), 13 and 14, and it's always working properly. Sometimes notification appears after a while, but the timer works in a background.

Here you are. It may well be device specific. Please note that when a timer is deleted the other parameters are not and become default for new timers. I don't know if that is intended.
