Interesting, I'll forward this to the group chat. I've sold my laptop, forgot to update the readme and make an announcement. ISW-Modern is no longer maintained, but I'll try to help out if I can.
Another possible issue is that it's reading an incorrect temperate
Could be the case, MSI may have implemented a new system to average out the fan speed depending on CPU and GPU combined temperatures.
Your right. I did some more monitoring and the temperatures look similar between the GPU and CPU, with a difference of about 10 'C at most. So I just increased the fan speed at a specific CPU temperature. Seems to have solved the first problem. After reinstalling the software the GPU temperature was correct. Probably was off due to a kernel change. Thanks...
I am sad, that it's no longer going to be maintained. I sadly don't have the coding skills or the knowledge to try to maintain it myself. Nor do I know where to start... All well, I can say your support has been greatly appreciated, thanks from all the MSI Linux users out there.
One the GF63 models there's only one fan
However, if my GPU reaches a temp of 88, my fan doesn't speed up from what I can hear.
Another possible issue is that it's reading an incorrect temperate, unless I run nvtop then it reads it correctly
