Hold on actually, what is the purpose of this, what problem is being solved? I'm being a bit more careful after reading that linked SO. Where is the first URL used and why do we need to redirect between two pages on the help site? Couldn't we just change any uses of this link to the new one?
@neil-marcellini - I raised this PR because someone raised a broken link and Rushat said we needed to make a redirect to resolve it. If there is another method I am happy to go that route but from what I understand the "old link" no longer exists (we deleted the page) and so it needs to be redirected to the correct page. There are actually a lot of instances of this because we keep changing the site's organization and format, moving pages around, combining and splitting them, and deleting them entirely. Here is the screenshot of the "old link" page. Here is the screenshot of the "new link" page. When someone searches "invoicing" on the help site, the "old link" is the first result in the list, which leads to a dead page. Google is in charge of reindexing as well so we can't affect the results, we can just put in the redirect so the customer gets to the right article when clicking it. |
@strepanier03, ok thanks for adding more of an explanation. I now see that we already have some redirects within the site so it's probably ok
It looks like that's no longer happening. From a google search everything looks fine too. I will approve it though, in case there are still some out-dated links floating around. |

Thank you, @neil-marcellini, I appreciate you putting this through. I agree it was still needed in case the link was floating around. |
