Is your feature request related to a problem?

Land team requested global time series be displayed in a similar page to the E3SM Diags viewer. This will make viewing the ~470 2D fields easier.

Describe the solution you'd like

These will probably be done as distinct pull requests:

  • Send global_time_series plots to individual images, rather than the 8-panel plots
  • Create basic HTML page to list links to all those individual images
  • Make the HTML page look more similar to the Diags viewer -- e.g. group the variables (energy, water, carbon, etc.), have a short description of each variable, be able to hover over the image and have a preview display.`

Describe alternatives you've considered

No response

Additional context

Discussed in a meeting with @thorntonpe @dmricciuto @BunnyVon @wlin7 @chengzhuzhang. @thorntonpe will provide a list of variables the Land team needs -- #151 / #597 can list these variables as the default to be included in global_time_series

@thorntonpe I'm checking in if you have the list of variables yet. I think we said we'll default to around 400 2D variables to plot? Thanks!
