Switch device recognized as color switch #122
Comments
Whats the de devicetype in Domoticz? are those all the same?
Op 06-12-2024 18:41 CET schreef vespino ***@***.***>:
Yesterday I installed 2 switches, 1 was recognized as switch, the other as color switch while they are the same devices. I also have 5 MOES dimmers that were all recognized as color switch instead of switch or dimmer. Any way to change this? I’m not able to change the “device type” in the interface where I am for other devices correctly recognized.

The switches I installed the day before yesterday are both “On/Off” the MOES dimmers are “Dimmers”. |
Since I’ve been adding devices, I’ve been also syncing a lot and the 2 devices mentioned somehow both are “OnOff” devices in DZGA now. The dimmers remain “ColorSwitch” devices. |
do the switches work but all dimmers not?

Think I’ll do that, seem to be having some more unexplainable issues with a few TUYA devices where when I turn them on they’re turned off after 30-60 seconds. Maybe this will solve that as well. Not sure if it’s TUYA or DZGA or Domoticz, but it’s driving my wife crazy. |
In DZGA there is no option for timer functions. So or in Domoticz you have automation (script running) or in TUYA app or in Google Home to auto turn off after 60 seconds. Most easy is to start checking Domoticz logg for automation triggers. |
I think the problem might be the Tuya API which apparently only allows for 10 devices. I’m currently on 16. |

Second guessing my choice for Tuya. |
“Let sleeping dogs lie” but I’m sure I’m controlling more that 10 devices currently, so I’m calling out Tuya to reconsider their limits. It’s crazy you can have 50 devices (which maybe isn’t enough for a larger house), but can only control 10. A bit out of proportion if you ask me. It’s also crazy they don’t have a lower tier API, their first is 25000$ per month. I’ll let you know their response. If that won’t work, I’m going all in on “local Tuya”. |
For my own: I would never want to be dependant on external suppliers. All my device are local configured, I have over 60 Shelly devices, none of them connected to the Shelly cloud, except these who support dual: local (mqtt) and cloud connection.
I even setup my home network (Unifi) as stand-alone so I will always able to control my devices when the ISP fails, ofcourse I don't have internet connection in that case but all the devices keep their (static) IP and and connectivity.
When at home I can use the Phone or tablet or Toon Thermostat (rooted) to control my devices.
Using Google Assistant with DZGA and Domoticz I could control my devices when not at home, or I use VPN to control Domoticz directly.
As long as I don't have to use vendor apps obligated , I'm happy.
