Remove unnecessary try except statements in tests

example:

try: project = Project() value = project.get_output_directory() except Exception as e: pytest.fail("No exception expected, but thrown: {}".format(str(e)))

These try except statements are everywhere in the tests and are unnecessary. The test will fail if an error is raised anyway.
