With debian bookworm, network-manager (and nmcli) got more powerful, it is e.g. possible to create a wireless access point with one well crafted nmcli command, see eg here. There is also a quite usable nmcli ansible module that is already proven to work in the new vwlan-bridge role (see MR #78).
accesspoint: use nmcli instead of hostapd and dhcpd. Probably dnsmasq will have to stay. nmcli seems to support some auto selection mechanism for the uplink channel, I might experiement with
uplink: Evaluate if firewalld is still the "best" option.
