Kramdown versions 2.3.1 and lower have a vulnerability ranked at 9.8 severity. By manually updating the versions, the vulnerability is patched and any risk for the user is removed. General updates to the versions are also helpful for the developer/user experience. I have opened a corresponding pull request.
