Unfortunately I can't reproduce this consistently but I've noticed it on two machines. It goes back to at least 1.49.

Looks like a point object. I copied the code from the Clamp to Terrain demo.

I'm pretty sure this worked when I implemented it here: #6621

I might have made a mistake and introduced this bug in the clean up here: #6781

I haven't done a git bisect or anything, but this is my best guess.
