FTP connection failure

I am trying to connect to the massive server via WinSCP using the GNPS instruction. The connection fails providing the error
OOPS: cannot change directory:/data/ccms-data/uploads/*my user name

When I try to reconnect the error

OOPS: child died is given

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
