Creating this issue a general placeholder for people to introduce themselves and for the project to keep a running list of open, small ways to get involved.

I'm Kanishka. I am passing through to provide some drive by contributions while I am moving from haskell development to a focus on bioinformatics. I'll start by adding a simple unit test suite to get familiar.
