Would machine learning be possible?

Would it be very difficult for you to implement a machine learning setting (of which could be toggled) that would start off with the current code and evolve over time? If the bot tried something new it would revert back to the current code, if it got further then before it would keep that code, if it failed another time with a new code it would revert back to the code it created that worked, etc. If you could do this it would be simply amazing as you could watch as the bot slowly got better at the game :P

This isn't a issue but more of a request, which is not what this section is for, but I didn't want to/know how to go through posting a pull request... so... yeah sorry :S
